Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the Scientific Conference- “Waste Management and the Related Challenges”-dedicated to the International Day of the Earth. The event was aimed at raising awareness in the environmental protection and waste management issues in the youth. Participants of the conference included the X-XII grade students from the secondary schools and the University students in Ajara selected based on the contest.
The best participants of the conference-Anita Lomadze, X grade student from Alambri Public school and Shorena Takidze, IV year student of BSU, ecologist, were given
Tablets and all other participants -certificates and souvenirs.
The conference was held by BSU Eco Club in the frame of the programme “Waste Management in Regions, II Phase (WMTR II). The programme is implemented by the Caucasus Environmental Non-Governmental Organizations’ Network (CENN) through the support of the USA International Development Agency (USAID).
