Organized by the Faculty of Tourism of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, the VII International Scientific-Practical Conference on the topic: “Tourism: Challenges and Sustainable Development” was opened at the Hilton Hotel. The International Conference was organized by the Adjara A.R. It is being held with the support of the Ministry of Education and Sports and in partnership with the international exhibition and event company "Expo Batumi".

Within the framework of the international research project “CauLaGeNet - Caucasian Languages Network in Georgia”, the International Summer School “CauLaGe - Caucasian Languages in Georgia” was opened at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The summer school brings together students, professors and researchers from more than 10 countries around the world and is one of the most important international academic events in the field of Caucasian language research.

The Peace Studies Center - “Youth Platform for Peacebuilding” has been opened at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The center will create a new educational space for young people to study and understand conflicts, historical experience, and modern social processes.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was visited by Klemen Jerina, Professor of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Vice-Dean of Forestry. During the visit, Professor Klemen Jerina met with the Rector of BSU, Tite Aroshidze. At the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for deepening partnership relations with the University of Ljubljana and cooperation within the framework of the “Erasmus+” program. It was also planned to sign a memorandum between Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the University of Ljubljana, which will facilitate the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects in the future.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted San Diego State University Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Bill Tong, Global Campus Dean Ian Gibson, US Embassy Representative and San Diego State University-Georgia Advisory Board Member Harvey Sernowitz, US Embassy Grant and Higher Education Programs Coordinator Sopho Bzishvili, and San Diego State University-Georgia Manager for Institutional Representation Julie Kapanadze for the English-language Civil Engineering program under the ABET program.
