
Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted public lectures delivered by Nikoloz Meskhidze, Professor of the University of North Carolina on the following issues: Scientific Grounds of the Climate Change: Application of the Data of Models and Satellite in the Black Sea Region of the South of Caucasus.
Public lectures that lasted for three days introduced the professors and teaching staff to the following actual topics: Global Change of Climate (modern understanding of its reasons and results); Contemporary Regional and Global Models (general overview), Regional Model Reg-CM, Satellite Data on Gases of Atmosphere, Aerosols, Clouds, Precipitation, Temperature of Seas and Oceans, Numerosity of Phytoplankton and the Possibilities of their free Extraction and Processing.
The presenter also talked about the results of the global models and their free extraction and processing possibilities, the effect of oceans and seas on the amount and chemical composition of atmospheric aerosols, cloud condensation measurement tools, biogeochemical cycles of the Earth and perspective directions of the science studying the Earth.
The event took place in the frame of the sub-programme of Support of the Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Autonomous Republic of Ajara.
