International Conference “Humanities in the Information Society-III”

International Conference “Humanities in the Information Society-III” has been opened in Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Georgian and International researchers have been discussing the important issues like Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Approaches, National Individuality and Cultural Diversity, Corpus Linguistics and Digital Humanities since three days. Section work involves more than 200 Georgian researchers from various Georgian universities, at about 20 international researchers (Japan, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Azerbaijan, the Ukraine) and 20 PhD students. A poster presentation and a round table have also been planned for the young researchers.  


The aim of the International Forum is to support the study of essential issues including the Universal Globalization, the new tendencies in the development of Humanities in the epoch of the general globalization and the information technologies as well as the idea of these changes and the research methods.


The Conference envisages the following sections: Philosophy, History and Ethnology, Archaeology, Linguistics (Kartvelian Languages, European Languages, Lexicography and Terminology, Translation Studies, Semiotics, Corpus Linguistics), Literary Studies, Classical Philology, Byzantine Studies, Semiotics, Mass Media and Intercultural Communication and Digital Humanities.

The articles presented at the Conference will be published as the collection of the materials.

The Scientific Conference, organized by Batumi Shota  Rustaveli state University,  “Humanities in the Information Society-III” is being held for the third time already. The first conference took place in 2009 and the second-in 2014.
