The French National Day was celebrated with several activities jointly by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, French Language Teachers Association, and Batumi Boulevard. The event was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Georgia Pascal Meunier, Rector of the University Merab Khalvashi and Batumi Mayor Lasha Komakhidze. The foyer of the university was the venue of several expositions: the exhibition of the works of FabLab BSU; the exposition of Old Boulevard; the exposition of the paintings, rendering French literature, by the pupils from Georgian-American school and school "Euro 2000". The music performed by the university band as well as melodies and compositions of classical music instrumented on the accordion and the piano accompanied the event.
The French National Day is celebrated by French Embassies, educational or Francophonic organizations in different countries around the world. The event dedicated to this day has been held in Batumi for the first time this year.
