The ideathon “Don’t underestimate your potential - how to create a safe and secure work environment” jointly held by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and UN Women organization in Georgia. The idea competition aimed at fostering those gender-based strategies that will enable academic organizations and private companies to implement sexual harassment-free, safe learning, and workspaces for women. Nine teams of Ideathon, staffed by BSU students, under the guidance of professional instructors and gender experts, developed innovative ideas and strategies on how to create a safe environment for women based on the principles of gender equality.
A jury of gender experts identified three favorite teams that were awarded special prizes by representatives of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, business companies, and the United Nations Women Organization.
The ideathon was implemented as a part of the UN Women campaign - Social and Economic Empowerment of Women. The campaign aims at empowering, actively engaging women in the country's economic activity, and is based on the principles of women's empowerment that were elaborated in 2010 by the UN Women and the UN Global Compact. These principles and recommendations help businesses to empower women in the workplace, market relations, and society.
The campaign was financially supported by the Norwegian government.
