Professors Paata Kervalishvili and Athanasios Mamalis are awarded titles of honorary doctors of BSU

Academic Council of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University awarded professors Paata Kervalishvili and Athanasios Mamalis with titles of honorary doctors of BSU. Professors Paata Kervalishvili and Athanasios Mamalis contributed significantly to the development of the university and the upbringing of future generations. The Georgian researcher has authored about 500 scientific articles, books, inventions, reports, and the Greek scholar has published 32 books and monographs, 12 textbooks, 580 articles and has 2 patents.

Professor Paata Kervalishvili is professor of the Technical University of Georgia, a visiting professor at Tbilisi State University, Honorary Professor of Webster University, president of Natural Sciences Academy of Sciences since 2009, president of the Euro-Mediterranean Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2010, member of the Presidium of Georgian Academy of Engineering since 1992, and a member of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Europe (Hanover) since 2004.

The scientist led scientific projects in the US, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, England, and the former USSR. Professor Paata Kertsvalishvili has been invited as a professor at leading universities in the US, Germany, France, Italy, England, and Greece. He organized international conferences at BSU.

Athanassios Mamalis is the Scientific Director of the Greek National Research Center Democritus - the Nanotechnology and Innovation Engineering Design Center (PC-NAE); Emeritus, Founder of the Manufacturing Technology Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens, Graduate of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens.

His published papers comprise Mechanics, Manufacturing Technology, Precision / Ultra-Precision Engineering, Nanotechnology, Macro, Micro, Nano-Scale Black and Non-Ferrous Metal Technology, Powder Production and Processing Technologies, Biomechanics / Biomedical Engineering, Transport / Structural Plasticity, Energy and environmental protection Theoretical, experimental and practical aspects of safety and security.
