
1. BSU is a beneficiary of the EU project "Laboratory Health and Safety Courses for Youth in Continuing Education in Western and Eastern Georgia". The aim of the project is to organize laboratory safety training courses and train young staff for health and food safety laboratories, to promote the employment of graduates. The coordinators are Marina Koridze; R. Khukhunaishvili. The grant recipient organization is TSU, and BSU is one of the beneficiaries. GEBA (Georgian Association of Biotechnologists), Georgian Disease Control Center and Georgian Agriculture Laboratory will take part in the project. Partners from the EU are Universities of Milan and Teramo. At this stage the project is ready for signature.
2. A new project in the field of law will be implemented at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. BSU has become one of the partners of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Teaching University, a winner of the Human Rights Law Competition announced by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program "Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia" (PROLoG). The project will be implemented in partnership with Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Teaching University, Faculty of Law, with the partnership of Law Faculties of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Samtskhe-Javakheti State University. On behalf of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, the project is coordinated by Malkhaz Nakashidze, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences.
3. This year, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University joined the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) "Introduction of Modern Vocational Training and Extension Systems in Georgian Agriculture" to develop vocational education programs in the field of agriculture. Under the program, UNDP will purchase expensive modern technical equipment needed to implement two vocational education programs at BSU - "Gardening" and "Forestry" - The program coordinator is Madona Mikeladze.
