on Making Changes in and Additions to the Resolution N06-01/59 of 9 September 2020 of the BSU Academic Council on “Organized Implementation of the 2020-2021 Academic Year at the BSU One-cycle Educational Programme (English) “Medical Doctor”

Pursuant to the Article 1 of the Chapter 21 and the Article 4 of the Chapter 33 of the Law of Georgia on “Higher Education”, Article 4 of the Chapter 8 of the BSU Statute, the BSU Rector’s Order N01-02/143of 9 November 2020 on “the Academic Registration for the Fall Semester 2020 and the Administrative Registration for the 2020-2021 Academic Year for the Students of the One-cycle Educational Programme (English) “Medical Doctor” of the BSU Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care, the Resolution N 322 of 23 May 2020 on “Approving the Rules of Quarantine and Isolation”  of the Government of Georgia (pursuant to the amendment made to this Resolution  pursuant to the Resolution N 699 of 26 November 2020 of the Georgian Government), the BSU Rector’s Order N01-02/130 of 1st October 2020 on “Approving the Rule of Administration of the Electronic Studies at BSU and Some Organization Related Measures of the 2020-2021 Academic Year”, the Order (MES 2200001127365) of 26 November 2020 of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia on “Implementation of the Study Process by the Higher Educational Institutions Functioning in the Territory of Georgia during 2020-2021 Academic Year, Resolution N 06-01/44 of 6 August 2020 of the BSU Academic Council on “Approving the Academic Calendar for the BSU 2020-2021 Academic Year”, Decree N 698 of 26 November 2020 of the Government of Georgia on “Defining Holidays” and the Report Letter N1206618 of 16 December 2020 of the Dean of the BSU Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care, the Academic Council

Decided

  1. To make the below stipulated changes in  and additions to  the Resolution N06-01/59 of 9 September 2020 of the BSU Academic Council on the Organized Implementation of the 2020-2021 academic year at the BSU one-cycle educational programme (English) “Medical Doctor”
  1. To formulate the first article of the Resolution in the following wording:

“1. The 2020-2021 academic year for the students enrolled in 2015-2019 (through so called I, II, III, IV,V,VI and VII streams) at the BSU one-cycle educational programme (English) “Medical Doctor” shall be implemented within the following calendar:

  1. The study process for the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year shall start on 26 October 2020 and finish on 21 February 2021;
  2. Christmas Holidays shall be announced from 31 December 2020 and last including 15 January 2021;
  3. The main exam session period  of the fall semester shall be 22 February -14 March (including) 2021, while additional exam session -15 -21 March (including) 2021;
  4. The period for the academic registration/changes in the academic registration for the Spring semester, shall be 22-28 March 2021;
  5. Lectures and auditorium work for the Spring Semester shall start on 29 March and finish 18 July 2021;
  6. The main exam session period of the Spring semester shall be 19-July-08 August 2021, while the period of the additional exam session shall be 09-15 August 2021;
  1. Article11 of the Resolution be added to the Article 1 and formulated in the following way:

11 The 2020-2021 academic year for the students enrolled in the Spring semester 2021 (later the persons enrolled through “VIII” stream) at the BSU one-cycle educational programme (English) “Medical Doctor” shall be implemented within the following calendar:

  1. The dates for the academic registration for the students of the Spring semester shall be 25-31 January 2021;
  2. Lectures and auditorium work shall be commenced on 01 February and finish on 23 May 2021;
  3. The period for the main exam session for the Spring semester shall start on 24 May and finish on 12 June 2021, while additional exam session period shall start on 14 June and finish 20 June 2021;
  1. Pursuant to the requirements (recommendations) of the legal acts of the Georgian Government or/and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, in case of need of issuance of the relevant legal acts on the changes in the BSU 2020-2021 academic calendar or/and implementation of the study process  in the full  or partial  electronic (distance learning) form, they shall be issued by the BSU Rector;
  2. The relevant faculty shall inform the students on the changes made pursuant to the present Resolution through all electronic services utilized in the study process;
  3. On the ground of the present Resolution , the Legal Department shall prepare the codified Resolution N06-0159 of 9 September 2020 and, on the ground of the report letter, it shall be presented to the BSU Rector; to the translator (Nana Mazmishvili) for translation and be uploaded on the BSU web-site  by the BSU IT Service (“Education”-“Academic Calendar” and for the new addition –“Academic Calendar” in the English section of the “Student’s Guide”); 
  4. The Resolution shall be published on the BSU web-site;
  5. The Resolution shall be sent to the BSU Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care, the Head of the Quality Assurance Service, Deputy Rectors, Administration Head, Study Process Department, Legal Department, Financial-Economic Department, IT Service, the Students’ Career Development, Culture and Sports  Department;
  6. The Resolution shall enter into force upon issuance.
