On changes in the BSU Rector’s Oder N 01-02/13 of 01 February 2021 on Organization Measures and Spring Semester Academic Calendar of 2021-2022 Academic Year for the students enrolled in the One-cycle Educational Programme “Medical Doctor” of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health care of BSU, through the 8th stream
“Pursuant to the article one of the chapter 22 of the Law of Georgia on “Higher Education”, article 13 of the BSU Statute, “Study Process Regulation Rule” approved by the Resolution N 111 of 08 October 2015 of the BSU Academic Council, Decision N 07-01-47 of 22 November 2019 of the BSU Representative Council on “Approving the Tuition Fee for the Studies at the BSU Educational Programme instructed in Foreign Language”, Resolution N 06-01/59 of 09 September 2020 of the BSU Academic Council (change pursuant to the Resolution N 06-01/23 of 15 March 2021 by the Academic Council) on “Organized Implementation of the 2020-2021 Academic Year at the One-cycle Educational Programme of Medical Doctor” (English) at BSU, Order N 01-08/04 of 26 January 2021, Order N 01-08/24 of 17 February 2021 and Order N 01-08/102 of 12 March 2021 of the BSU Rector on enrollment of “the Citizens of Republic of India at the One-cycle Educational Programme of “Medical Doctor” of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care of BSU (enrolled through the 8th stream) enrolled without passing Common National Exams, Report Letter MES 6 21 0000203922 of 09 March 2021 of the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care,
IT IS ORDERED:
- To make changes in the BSU Rector’s Order N01-02/13 of 01 February on 2021-2022 Spring Semester Academic Calendar and Organization Measures for the students enrolled through the 8th stream at the One-cycle Educational Programme (English) of “Medical Doctor” at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care of BSU, in particular to restate the first point in the following way:
“ 1. to define the academic calendar of the Spring semester (first semester) of the 2021-2022 academic year and implement the study process for the students enrolled in the One-cycle Educational Programme (English) of Medical Doctor (enrolled through the 8th stream) by Spring semester 2021, in the following way:
“a) Academic registration for the Spring semester-including 19 April (for the students arrived in Georgia by the April charter flight –including 24 April);
b) To commence the study process (lectures/group work/seminars/clinical/laboratory work) of the Spring semester on 19 April 2021 and finish on 31 July 2021 (totally 15 academic weeks);
c) The main exam session of the Spring semester shall start on 2 August and finish on 22 August 2021, while additional exam session shall start on 23 August and finish on 29 August 2021;
d) The study process of the Spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year shall be carried out in hybrid format with theoretical part (lectures)-in distance learning form, while practical, laboratory work and clinical components-in the university space and on medical bases on site;
e) The study process shall be implemented on daily basis, excluding Sunday in accordance with the timetables elaborated at the faculty level. The academic hour shall be defined as 50 minutes, while the intervals/break time shall last for 10 minutes. The duration of the academic hour in distance learning conditions shall be defined by the instruction (no less than 40 minutes, considering the condition of additional electronic communication in case needed for the students) provided through the Study Process Electronic Management Services of BSU, pursuant to the BSU Rector’s Order N01-02/130 of 01 October 2020 on “Approving the Rule of Administration of the Electronic Study Process and Some Organization measures of the 2020-2021 Academic Year at BSU”;
2. The Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care shall ensure the following:
a) To inform all students of the BSU educational programme on the Tuition Fee Payment Rule and the Academic Calendar approved by the Decision N 07-0147 of 22 November 2019 of the Representative Council pursuant to the present Order, through utilization of all communication means created by the faculty administration during the study process (public information to the students);
b) To collect and present the data on the agreements signed with the students of the BSU educational pogramme instructed in English, administration of the personal records and the results of the academic registration of the 2021 Spring semester;
c)To present the Office Report (based on the consultations with the Study Process Department) on the changes in the BSU Rector’s Order on the measures of the implementation of the study process, as well as the workload of the BSU academic and invited staff based on consideration of the data of the students’ academic registration;
3. The SBU Information Technologies Service and the BSU Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care, through coordinated work, shall ensure creation of the BSU corporate e-mails for the persons enrolled in the “Medical Doctor” One-cycle Educational Programme through the 8th stream (in order to ensure their access to the so called “google classroom” electronic system as all the seven stream students of the same programme);
4. The BSU Information Technologies Service and the Students’ Electronic Service Administration of the BSU Students Career Development, Culture and Sports Department shall mutually ensure application of the Students’ portal/study process electronic system by the 8th Stream students (addition of the one-cycle educational (English) programme of “Medical Doctor” to the electronic journal (spm@bsu.edu.ge)).
5 The present Order shall be translated in English and notified to the students;
6. The Order shall be uploaded on the BSU web-site;
7. The Order shall be sent to the Deputy Rector (T.Siradze), Administration Head, Relevant Faculty, Financial-Economic Department, Legal Department, Information Technologies Service, Study Process Department and the Students Career Development, Culture and Sports Department.
8. The order enters into force immediately upon issuance;
9. The order may be appealed to the Batumi City Court within one month of its issuance (Batumi, Stepane Zubalashvili Str. №30);
