
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia Imamura Akira visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. At the introductory meeting with BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi, the representative of the diplomatic corps spoke about the friendly relations between Georgia and Japan and the directions of future cooperation. By agreement of the parties, it was planned to deepen cooperation with Japanese higher education institutions, involve students in exchange programs and educational projects, and promote the study of the Japanese language.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia Imamura Akira gave a lecture to the students of the BSU International Relations Education Program on the topic: “Relations between Georgia and Japan” and answered their questions.
Rector of BSU Merab Khalvashi presented a memorable gift to the guest -a miniature model of a Colchian engraved ax dating back to VIII-VII centuries B.C. found in Ajara.
