Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is hosting an international workshop within the framework of the Erasmus+project “The Role of Universities in Regional Development (RURD)”. At the meeting, representatives of 10 regional universities will discuss the final version of the agreement to establish a conference of rectors.
The project envisages the establishment of the academic structure of the Conference of Rector of the Regional Partnership Scheme, the prerogative of which will be to discuss the ways of achievement envisaged by the university mission, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the strategic plan and share experiences.
The RURD Erasmus+project aims to work in a coordinated manner on the strategic plans, research and development of the mission of regional universities, which will facilitate relations between higher education institutions, as well as their relations with governing bodies and municipal institutions. The project also envisages academic, cultural popularization of HEIs, contribution to the economic development of the regions, deepening cooperation and relations among the international higher educational institutions.
RURD participating regional universities, in partnership, will share international experience in developing strategies to enhance the involvement of government agencies in addressing the challenges facing HEIs.
Collaboration and international experience within the project are relevant for encouraging student and science innovation, internationalization of learning introduction of international standards for commercialization of research, and promising innovations.
