
Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was visited by the Rector of the University of Warsaw Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Radoslaw Karasiewicz Shchipiorski, Prof. of the University of Warsaw, Jacek Hamburg, Director of the Polish-Georgian Interdisciplinary Research Center of Krukowski and Lech Konchak, Director of the Polish Institute of Tbilisi.
The delegation members met Merab Khalvashi, the BSU Rector, Nika Chkhartishvili, Administration Head, Giorgi Tavamaishvili, Head of the Department of Strategic Development and International Relations and Zaur Akhvlediani, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of Autonomous Republic of Ajara.
The parties discussed the status of the implementation of joint educational programmes, priorities of future cooperation and commercialization of research. The universities have been cooperating or years already in the field of archeology, what became the ground of deepening the cooperation in various fields.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the University of Warsaw has been functioning since 2016. During the visit, the parties agreed on the further cooperation, defined the directions and signed the updated memorandums.
