
Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is involved in the grant project of the USA Embassy in Georgia - MEDIA EDUCATION PROGRAM (MEP). In the frame of the grant project, the BSU was visited by the professors of the DePaul University in Chicago, South Illinois State University, media experts and the representatives of the US Embassy in Georgia.
American professors conducted masterclasses for journalism educational programme implementers and other stakeholders; shared the programme elaboration models with Georgian colleagues and introduced them to the news in the educational space of the US.
The programme is implemented by the Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy in partnership with the US Grant Organization.
The programme is fully funded by the US Department of State. A partner organization World Chicago has hosted Journalism educational programmes and Inga Shamilishvili, the BSU Associate Professor. In the frame of the programme A Master’s Educational Programme “Digital Media and Innovation” has been elaborated together with Tbilisi State University. The programme will be implemented on the Faculty of Humanities of BSU. The new programme is an important step for the development in the direction of Journalism at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
