
On April 20-22, in the framework of Erasmus + project SQUARE "Strengthening the Quality and Urgency of the 3rd Mission in Georgian Universities", Tamar Siradze, Deputy Rector of BSU and Nino Dolidze, Head of Public Relations Service, paid a study tour in Paris, at the invitation of one of the project partners, the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (CNAM). CNAM is one of the first institutions in France to spread knowledge outside the traditional audience of universities.
As a result of the study tour, the participants got acquainted with the examples of the implementation of the third mission in the European institutions. During the visit, meetings were held with academic staff, representatives of stakeholder administrations, and leaders implementing the strategic integration of Third Mission activities with universities.
In France, the project was hosted by CNAM Professor Karim Mejadi and Director of the CNAM National Innovation Teaching Team, Professor Jean-Claude Rouano-Borbalan. The French professors gave presentations to the project participants on the implemented and ongoing activities of the Third Mission in Paris. The meetings took place at the CNAM Museum, the Paris Museum (Carnavalet) and the city of science and industry (Cité des sciences et de l'industrie). After the meetings, the working group discussed the issues of sharing new knowledge and adapting it to the Georgian context.
8 universities of Georgia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center for Education Quality Development participated in the visit.
