Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Professor Merab Khalvashi, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Irakli Kordzaia and Associate Professor of the Faculty of Humanities Emzar Kakhidze paid a visit to Ardahan University. During the visit, a meeting was held with the Rector of Ardahan University Mehmet Bieber, Vice-Chancellor Mustafa Yildiz, Deans of Faculties and representatives of the administration. At the meeting, Rector Merab Khalvashi spoke about the scientific and cultural relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of joint research.
During the visit, BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi and Ardahan University Rector Mehmed Bieber signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a Mevlana Exchange Program document. The agreement envisages the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects, exchange of students and academic staff, conferences and trainings. Joint events in the field of tourism were planned between the partner universities.
The members of the BSU delegation also got acquainted with the infrastructure of the higher education institution, visited the Center for the Use and Research of Continuing Education (ARÜSEM), visited the Congress Building Museum and took part in a virtual tour of the Planetarium (ARÜ). The role of the third mission has been defined as a compulsory component of accreditation-authorization process.
