Innovation Laboratory Opened in BSU

An innovation laboratory was opened at the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The Rector of BSU, Professor Merab Khalvashi opened the laboratory and spoke about its importance. The innovation laboratory will help BSU students to prepare and implement innovative projects for the industry and business sector, as well as offer mutually beneficial services to various target audiences, the industry sector - short-term training courses, for staff capacity building; students will be offered various software packages and space for developing projects and their realization.

The innovation laboratory was opened in the frame of the "Erasmus+" project: "Boosting the role of HEIs in the industrial transformation towards the Industry 4.0 paradigm in Georgia and Ukraine.” High-performance computers, a TV set and various computer programs for the laboratory were purchased within the HEIn4 project of "Erasmus+".

The purpose of the project "Boosting the role of HEIs in the industrial transformation towards the Industry 4.0 paradigm in Georgia and Ukraine” is to strengthen the role of the university in the implementation of the process of the 4th industrial revolution.

The Agency of Innovations and Technologies of Georgia, within the scope of competence, plans to share best practices between the mentioned laboratory and the agency's factory laboratories.

On the website of the laboratory (https://hein4.bsu.edu.ge) there is a list of short-term courses developed within the project and a short description, which will be periodically filled and updated according to the interests of partner institutions.
