
An international scientific conference was opened at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University on the topic: "Humanities in the Information Society - IV". The international forum aims to promote the research of such important issues as: new trends in the development of humanitarian sciences in the era of universal globalization and information technology, the essence of these changes and research methods.
The international conference was opned by the Rector of Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, Professor Merab Khalvashi, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara Maya Khajishvili, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of BSU Marine Giorgadze, Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Georgia Vesselin Valkanovi and Coordinator of Grant Programs of the US Embassy Sofio Bzishvili who spoke about the importance of the forum.
About 200 Georgian and foreign scientists - from the United States of America, Great Britain, Finland, Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine - take part in the work of the session. In the current year, the master's program of journalism direction "Digital Media and Innovations" was launched in BSU. Professors and teachers of foreign universities, partners of the mentioned program, who played an important role in the formation and implementation of the program, participate in the conference.

4. Linguistics;
5. Literary studies;

8. Archaeology
9. New paradigms of intercultural philosophy:
During two days, Georgian and foreign researchers will discuss such topical issues as: interdisciplinary and intercultural approaches, mass communications, national identity and cultural diversity, corpus linguistics and digital humanitarianism.
The reports read at the conference will be published as a collection.
The international conference is organized by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and funded by the "Higher Education Promotion Program" of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Adjara.
