
An exhibition of Dutch maps and engravings of the 16th-18th centuries dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Georgia was opened at Shota Rustaveli State University in Batumi, where Georgia and Georgians are depicted.
The exhibition was opened by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia Maaike van Koldam and the Rector of BSU, Professor Merab Khalvashi who spoke about the importance of the exhibition. The exhibition featured 26 maps and engravings preserved in the private collection of Sulkhan Saladze, which clearly show how the Black Sea historically connected Georgia and Europe and emphasized the so-called the meaning of the idea of "connectivity.”
The event was attended by professors, students and community representatives. The exhibition was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the organization of the organization - Open Space Caucasus (COS).
