A delegation of the Institute of European Regions (IRE) visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The President of the Institute, Prof. Franz Schausberger, the Policy Adviser of the Institute, Stefan Hubock, the Secretary General of the Institute, Dr. Joachim Fritz, and the member of the Management Team of the Institute, Dr. Helmuth Halschlehner met the Rector of BSU, Prof. Merab Khalvashi, professors and students, and presented the Institute to them. Within the framework of the visit, the President of the Institute of European Regions (IRE), Professor Franz Schausberger, gave a lecture on the relationship between the Institute of European Regions, the European Union and Georgia and evaluated the European integration process of Georgia. The meeting took place in the question-and-answer mode and the speaker answered topical questions.
 
The Institute of European Regions (IRE) is an economic and scientific organization that was founded in 2004 in the city of Salzburg in Austria and unites more than 130 regions, cities and institutions of 23 European countries. Autonomous Republic of Adjara joined the organization in 2012.
