
The first annual scientific conference "Challenges of Modern Public Law" of the International Society of Public Law (ICON•S Georgia) dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Law is being held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The conference was opened and the participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of BSU, Professor Levan Jakeli, ICON•S Georgia Co-Chairman, Head of the Jean Monnet Department of the EU Constitutional Law, BSU Professor Malkhaz Nakashidze, USAID Rule of Law Program Head Giorgi Chkheidze, TSU Professor Giorgi Kverenchkhiladze and BSU Law and Public Administration Department Associate Professor Omar Partenadze.
More than 100 speakers from Georgian and foreign universities participate in the international scientific conference. During two days, 4 plenary sessions with invited foreign and Georgian experts, 24 thematic panel sessions, book presentation and book exhibition will be held.
The conference is organized by Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, USAID Rule of Law Program and with the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara.
ICON•S of Georgia is a global academic organization that was established in Georgia last year and unites the academic staff of various Georgian universities, including BSU. The organization aims to promote the development of public law in Georgia, promotion of research activities and strengthening international academic cooperation.
