Fall school "Cultural and international tourism - life power of peace"

The fall school of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University "Cultural and International Tourism - Vital Force of Peace" was opened in BSU. About 40 Georgian and foreign professors and students participate in the fall school. The event was opened by BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi, DAAD Tbilisi Regional Office Head Gebhard Royle, BSU Administration Head Merab Diasamidze and Tourism Faculty Dean Irakli Kordzaia.

The fall school includes theoretical-practical training and getting to know the tourist potential of Adjara. Honorary doctor of BSU, German expert Kurt Reitz, BSU professors and foreign experts in the field of tourism will introduce the participants to current issues of cultural and international tourism for five days.

The aim of the fall school is to establish educational and cultural links around the border dividing lines, to promote cooperative relations between universities, academic staff and students of the South Caucasus, Moldova and EU countries; deepening-encouraging academic connections; sharing knowledge in the field of tourism.

The fall school is held within the framework of the EU4Dialogue project (third component): "Improving relations across dividing lines through education and culture". The multi-component program supports initiatives aimed at encouraging dialogue and people-to-people ties on both sides of the dividing lines in the South Caucasus and the Republic of Moldova.

The project is financed by the European Union.

The third component of the project aims to activate exchange relations in the field of education and culture on both sides of the dividing lines. The project will be led by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and a consortium of organizations from EU countries: Campus France (France), Goethe-Institute (Germany), Brussels Diplomatic Academy (Belgium), Foundation for the Development of the Education System – FRSE (Poland), The National Library of Latvia (Latvia), Smashing Times International Center for the Arts and Equality (Ireland).
