
Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi was visited by the delegation of China's Sichuan Province, consisting of Fu Ming, General Inspector of the Department of Education, Chang Chi, Dean of the Petroleum Engineering Faculty of Southwest Oil University, and Dai Lei, Head of International Relations of the same university. The members of the delegation met the Deputy Rector of BSU, Tamar Siradze, the Head of the Department of Strategic Development and Foreign Relations, Professor Marine Giorgadze, the Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Professor Gaioz Partskhaldze, and the BSU Chinese Language Lecturer, Davit Andghuladze. At the meeting, the guests talked about the prospects of cooperation with Shota Rustveli State University of Batumi, and it was planned to sign a memorandum.
Southwest Petroleum University of Sichuan was founded in 1958 and is focused on engineering, especially oil and gas engineering. Today it is a multidisciplinary university with 15 faculties, 124 undergraduate programs (engineering, management, law, literature, education, economics, etc.), as well as master's (112) and doctoral (34) programs. It has international relations and joint programs.
The university is one of the leading higher educational institutions in the country in terms of scientific and technological progress and ranking, it unites 304 scientific-research bases (platforms).
Sichuan is one of the largest and most important provinces of China, with a population of 91 million, where 147 universities operate, with up to 3 million students.
