
As part of the International Day of Science at BSU, the first Georgian translation of Vincent Filak's textbook "Convergent Journalism" and the student magazine "MediaLaboratory" were presented. The latest textbook of journalism "Convergent Journalism: Introduction (Writing and Producing in the Media)" was published by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University within the framework of the "Digital Media and Innovations" Master's Program. Each chapter of this innovative guide to practical journalism for the 21st century is written by an expert in the relevant field and covers the practical and key skills of different aspects of modern journalism.
The book will help students develop practical digital media skills. The guide is also intended for journalists, stakeholders and the general public. The new manual will be given as a gift to the leading media schools of Georgia. "Convergent Journalism" was translated within the framework of the grant project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria and published by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University with the financial support of Bulgarian Development Aid.
Vincent Filak's textbook "Convergent Journalism" was presented to the public by the Leader of BSU's "Digital Media and Innovations" Master's program, professor Inga Shamilishvili and the translator of the book, assistant professor of BSU Mari Korinteli. BSU Rector Merab Khalvashi addressed the public at the book presentation and talked about the importance of the textbook and the necessity of digital media education. The Rector focused on the active support and fruitful cooperation of the Bulgarian Embassy in educational and various projects. The event was attended by students, professors and media representatives.
The presentation of the student magazine "Medialaboratoria" was also held at the event. The magazine "Medialaboratory" was prepared by the students: Ana Bajunaishvili, Eliza Epadze, Mariam Khalvashi and Diana Tsetskhladze, under the guidance of Nana Kvatchadze, within the framework of the "Graphic Media" study course of the BSU "Digital Media and Innovations" Master's program. The reader will get to know interesting reports, articles, studies, interviews and photo reports about the important news of the country through the magazine, which is diverse in terms of genre and content.
