International conference "Trends and challenges of sustainable development of resorts"

Rector of BSU Merab Khalvashi, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Irakli Kordzaia, students of the Faculty of Tourism: Ketevan Mgeladze and Zhana Chkhikvadze Together with the Head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara Tinatin Zoidze, took part in the first international conference "Trends and challenges of sustainable development of resorts" organized by the "Resorts Development Agency". The conference was opened by the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili. In the speech, the minister talked about the need to develop resorts in Georgia and the importance of using the potential of this sector as much as possible and correctly, and the role of the state in this process.

Representatives and experts of state, private, international and local organizations participated in the conference. Within the framework of the conference, three thematic sessions were held - sustainable development of resorts: trends, challenges and perspectives; Social and economic consequences of resort development and wellness and balneology in health and human well-being.
