
Within the framework of the "University Capacity Development Program" (UCBP), funded by the US State Department and the US Embassy in Georgia, the BSU Deputy Rector Anzor Beridze, the representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and various higher educational institutions of Georgia paid a visit to the USA. . At the meetings held on May 13-25, representatives of various American universities shared with the members of the delegation the experience of the research administrators of American universities, the specifics of working with scientific foundations and presented specific research projects.
Opportunities for cooperation with Georgian universities participating in the project were also identified at the meetings, and a return visit of representatives of American universities in order to conduct seminars and workshops promoting research administration and strengthening the capacities of grant offices in higher educational institutions of Georgia was planned.
During the visit, meetings were held with the representatives of Harvard University, North Eastern University, Yale University, New York University, Pennsylvania State University, John Hopkins University, American University, George Washington University, George Mason University, American University of Beirut New York Center, Stevens Institute of Technology, Children's National Research Institute, the National Council of University Research Administrators (ENCURA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The visit was administered by the American Councils on International Education and the US National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA).
