
On April 9-11, within the framework of the project "Responsible Conduct of Research - Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities" (ETHICS) funded by the European Commission, the second international meeting and study visit of the consortium was held. The meeting was attended by representatives of 10 Georgian higher educational institutions of the project consortium, 3 European universities and European non-university partner organizations, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and the National Center for Education Quality Development.
Project members from BSU participated in the meeting - Deputy Rector Professor Tamar Siradze, Head of Quality Assurance Service Vladimer Ghlonti, Professor Nana Makaradze and Doctor of Education Nino Mikeladze.
The main goal of the study tour was to promote the improvement of existing mechanisms, procedures and services in the direction of research ethics and integrity in the partner universities of the project.
At the meeting, the participants discussed the work results, challenges and future plans of the 7 working groups formed within the consortium, as well as discussed the needs at the institutional level in the direction of research ethics and integrity. Each university submitted information about the work carried out in the university to date, held workshops and conducted trainings.
The study visit will include an interactive poster session showcasing inspiring and innovative projects, processes and educational initiatives related to stimulating responsible behavior in research.
The meeting organized by Ilia State University was hosted by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam/VU.
