
Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi is hosting the third international conference on the topic: "Early education and care". The conference was attended by Merab Khalvashi, Acting Rector of Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, Archil Chikovani, Mayor of Batumi, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republlic of Ajara Zaur Akhvlediani, Ambassador of Japan to Georgia Hideki Ishizuka, Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations in Georgia Didier Taghiyuk and Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund in Georgia Jesper Moller opened the event.
More than 170 participants are attending the conference, including government representatives, representatives of embassies and international organizations, academic circles, researchers, early education specialists and students. Topics of inclusive education systems, services and practices in the early years of child development were discussed at the forum. Organizers of the event are: Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Autonomous Republic of Ajara, Japan International Cooperation Agency, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and United Nations Children's Fund.
The conference aims to promote academic discussion on issues of quality, access and inclusion in early education and care. Also, promoting the university and professional development of teachers and working specialists, raising awareness of the importance of inclusive early education and care.
