Visit of the representatives of the University of Tampere, Finland

On September 30 - October 2, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was visited by the representatives of Tampere University Pori Consortium in Finland: Tarmo Liping, professor of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Communication Sciences of Tampere University, and Dr. Kimo Ahonen, an employee of the International Office of Tampere University, Erasmus coordinator and project manager.

During the visit, the guests met the rector of BSU, Professor Merab Khalvashi, deans of faculties, representatives of the Department of Strategic Development and International Relations, students interested in the exchange program. They introduced the Pori-Tampere University Consortium, programs, answered questions, outlined prospects for expanding future relations.

At this stage, cooperation began in the direction of information technology and business administration, a cooperation agreement was signed, which provides for the exchange of students and staff (academic, administrative).

It should be noted that the initiators of this cooperation were the honorary consul of Georgia in Finland (in the field of culture) Vitali Samkharadze and the member of the Supreme Council of Adjara Irakli Chavleishvili.

Pori Consortium brings together the educational programs and training courses of the Tampere University of Technology and the University of Turku. The university is focused on innovation and technology development, internationalization, multidisciplinary education (bachelor's, master's, doctoral); It offers students a variety of educational programs in the fields of technology, economy, culture, healthcare, education, and social sciences.
