The newly appointed Consul General of Turkey in Batumi, Adnan Altay Altınors, and TIKA Tbilisi Coordinator Zeynep Bayrak, along with other members of the delegation, visited BSU. At an introductory meeting with Acting Rector Merab Khalvashi, the parties discussed the friendly relations between the two countries and discussed future prospects. Merab Khalvashi congratulated the representative of the diplomatic corps on the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, emphasized the successful cooperation with Turkish universities, and introduced the history of the higher educational institution, educational programs, and university life.
The meeting planned to implement joint exchange projects and institutional projects. At the end, the guests viewed the university's material and technical base and monographs published by the Center for Kartvelology on historical southern Georgia.
The meeting was attended by Teona Beridze, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, and Marine Giorgadze, Head of the Department of Strategic Development and International Relations.
