Tite Aroshidze appointed as Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University

Tite Aroshidze has become the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The 11-member Academic Council of BSU elected Tite Aroshidze by a majority of the list members, with 10 votes, and 1 vote was annulled.Two candidates participated in the Rector elections - Tite Aroshidze, Doctor of Economics, Chairman of the Constitutional, Legal and Procedural Issues Committee of the Supreme Council of the Adjara Autonomous Republic, and Archil Guchmanidze, Doctor of Biology, Chairman of the Board of the Association "Flora and Fauna".

Before the voting, the candidates for rector presented their action plan to the members of the representative body of the higher educational institution.

The main directions of Tite Aroshidze's action plan are:

 

  • Development of educational programs;
  • Development of research activities;
  • Knowledge transfer and commercialization, technology transfer;
  • Internationalization, deepening of international cooperation;
  • Infrastructure development;
  • Diversification of financial resources;
  • Improvement of financial management;
  • Support for student life;
  • Motivation of human capital;

Tite Aroshidze will lead the university for a four-year term.
