Visit to Berlin within the framework of the project "Implementing Sustainable Development Goals at the Local and Regional Level in Georgia"

In the framework of the DAAD project “Implementing of SDG’s at  Local and Regional Level in Georgia” (Fact-finding mission to establish close relations between Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University and HTW Berlin), an important study visit was carried out in Berlin from 5 to 10 May  2025, during which fruitful and interesting meetings were held with professors of the HTW Berlin, the head of the international office of the same university, and representatives of two Berlin municipalities. The purpose of these meetings was to familiarize Georgian university representatives to successful sustainable development projects implemented with the involvement of the relevant services of Berlin municipalities and the public, and to analyze long-term prospects for cooperation between the academic fields. The visit was followed with an impressive excursion to Berlin's sustainable urban development projects. The continuation of this program involves the preparation of a long-term project application, which, if successful, will develop practical, results-oriented, research-based academic and administrative management activities focused on sustainable development goals.

The project involves Prof. Lela Turmanidze, Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education, Nana Mazmishvili, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Humanities from BSU Head of the Quality Assurance Service of Akaki Tsereteli University of Kutaisi, Prof. Tea Kordzadze and Tamta Demetradze, Head of the International Project Management and Development Sector.
