
From September 8 to 12, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) is hosting the final international conference and consortium working meetings of the EU ERASMUS+ grant project “PRESS – Promoting Science Education for Sustainable Development.”
The conference was officially opened by BSU Rector, Professor Tite Aroshidze; Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health Care, Rusudan Khukhunaishvili; Rector of Ilia State University, Professor Nino Doborjginidze; and the project coordinator, Professor Ingo Eilks from the University of Bremen (Germany).
The project aims to contribute to several key priorities of the European Union, particularly the European Green Deal, digital transformation, and the external dimension of EU education policy.
The conference is attended by members of the project consortium from Georgia, Finland, Germany, Austria, Israel, and Indonesia. More than 100 participants from both international and local educational and other institutions are taking part, all of whom are engaged with sustainable development issues.
The program includes plenary sessions, lectures, seminars, field expeditions, and hands-on activities. Additionally, 12 parallel workshops will be conducted, led by both international and Georgian experts. The conference will also feature 36 poster presentations.
