
With the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) hosted the international scientific conference “The Black Sea Region at the Crossroads of Civilizations IV” as part of the Science Festival "Blue Policy of a Maritime Country."
The two-day conference was officially opened with welcome addresses by:
- Tite Aroshidze, Rector of BSU
- Roin Malakmadze, Director of the Niko Berdzenishvili Institute
- Davit Gabaidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara
- Zviad Gabisonia, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia
- Maia Khajishvili, Minister of Education and Sports of Adjara AR
- Ketevan Kokrashvili, Head of the Science Department at the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia
- Pawel Gotowiecki, Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Poland
- Professor Osman Aytekin, Iğdır University, Turkey
The conference features presentations in a wide range of disciplines related to the Black Sea region, including:
history, archaeology, ethnology, geography, linguistics, literary studies, political science, psychology, and art studies.
The forum has brought together over 350 scholars from more than 10 countries.
This scientific conference is co-organized by:
