Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Signs MoA with Silesian University in Katowice, Poland

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Silesian University on 30 March. A delegation from the Adjara Autonomous Republic visited the city of  Katowice in Poland. The memorandum was signed  within the framework of the formal visit.  The memorandum was signed by Merab Khalvashi, Rector of the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Wiesław Banyś, Rector of the University of Silesia in  Katowice,. The signing ceremony was attended by Kazimierz Karolczak, member of the Board of Silesia.

The memorandum of understanding envisages initiatives such as student and staff exchange, implementation of the joint scholarly projects, holding of joint symposia and conferences, study visits, other academic activities and sharing of the experience.  

The MoA framework will be an opportunity to develop innovative joint educational programs,  to promote cooperation between the universities in such areas of study as humanities, social studies and natural sciences, computation and health care, as well as in tourism. 
 
The formal visit of the delegation from the Adjara Autonomous Republic to  Katowice, Poland started on 29 March will last till 1 April.
