BSU Welcomes International Summer School "Towards a Euro-Atlantic Strategy in the Black Sea Region”

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University opened International Summer School "Towards a Euro-Atlantic Strategy in the Black Sea Region”. The opening ceremony of the summer school was attended by the BSU Deputy Rector Inga Shamilishvili, First Deputy State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Archil Karaulashvili, Acting Director of the NATO and EU Information Center George Pareshishvili, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Romania in Georgia Mr. Radu Gorncioi, Marie-France Perdigon, Director of the Summer University Programme at the International Centre for the European Education. 

The summer school has a goal to discuss Euro-Atlantic strategy issues and geopolitical aspects in the Black Sea area and to look through them in both global and local lens.

30 European students will be discussing the issues of the EU integration, energy and regional security, NATO enlargement, Eastern Partnership and the frozen conflicts in the Black Sea region. The international summer school participants include Georgian, British, French, Italian, German, Austrian, Swiss and Spanish students. The team of the professors consists of the scholars and experts from the leading Georgian and international high educational institutions.

The international summer school is sponsored and organized by the partners: CIFE (Centre International de Formation Européenne), BSU, Embassy of Romania to Georgia, NATO and EU Information Center and Georgian Institute of Politics.
