Batumi Summer University at BSU - Nuclear Safety and Non-proliferation: Global Challenges and Opportunities

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University launched ‘Batumi Summer University - Nuclear Safety and Non-proliferation: Global Challenges and Opportunities” in partnership with the organizers: Civil Council on Defense and Security (Tbilisi, Georgia) and sponsored by the Sweden’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority.

The Summer University intends to raise awareness among the university professors and the experts in the area about the international nuclear non-proliferation and security issues. The second goal of the Summer University is to set up a network of experts in the field in the Black Sea region and facilitation of its development.  

The participants of the Summer University sessions are from Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine  who will discuss  issues of the global security, foreign policy and nuclear non-proliferation.

The Summer University courses will be taught by the international experts from the Royal College of the UK, Stockholm University, Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, Ukrainian University of International Relations, Tbilisi State University Institute of Physics. The participants are leading experts and the University staff.  

The international Summer University will wrap up on 7 September.
