BSU Hosts international conference ‘Semiotics of Chaos and Cosmos’

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the international conference ‘Semiotics of Chaos and Cosmos’.  The scientific conference featured four panels and 13 sessions. Almost 100 Georgian and international scholars presented papers during two days on the topical aspects of semiotics. The conference round table discussed the synergy as a future development of science.

The goal of the conference was the engagement of various scientific fields into the semiotic research and opening borders for lively communication among the scholars of linguistics, literary studies, psychology, religious studies, sociology, political sciences, culture studies, archaeology, mathematics, chemistry etc.

The cycle of semiotic conferences gave a start in 2010 at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.

VII international scientific conference was organized jointly by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the Semiotics Research Center at Ilia State University. The conference was sponsored by the Adjara AR Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

The international conference worked in the following four panels:

1.      Semiotics of Chaos and Cosmos

2.      Semiotics of Literature

3.      Linguistics, Semiotics of Language 

4.      Semiotics of Culture, Translation
