Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted the presentation of the Georgian-Farsi Dictionary by Mohamad Rigi. The academic event was attended by Rector of the host High Education Institution Merab Khalvashi, Consul General of the Iran’s Islamic Republic to Georgia, Head of the Department of Culture at the Embassy to Georgia of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mojtaba Kamranfard. BSU students, professors, and the interested Georgian community attended the event. There are 29 683 entries in the dictionary, which makes the first attempt to develop and publish a large volume of the bilingual translational dictionary. Editing of the Georgian part has been done based on such academic sources as Explanatory Dictionary of Georgian Language (8 volumes), Orthographic Dictionary of Georgian Language”. The dictionary is intended for the students, translators and interpreters, scholars and educators whose professional activities are related to Iran and the Iranian world. Georgian – Farsi Dictionary was published with the sponsorship of the Department of Culture at the Embassy to Georgia of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
