Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Frankfurt Wolfgang Goethe University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University jointly opened the annual summer school in digital humanities.
The international summer school has been held since 2012 to develop digital humanities in Georgia. The summer school will dwell upon and develop such studies as major principles of the digital humanities, language and culture documentation, acquaintance with such skills as Georgian and international resource application, methodology of field work etc.
BSU already offers Minor BA program in and the international PhD school in Digital Humanities. The summer school has attracted Georgian and international students from various universities.
The students will have the opportunity to listen to the Georgian and European scholars, study theory and practice, do field work and take part in the expedition within the framework of the summer school, document the obtained data and prepare a presentation. The summer school will end at 30 August.
