Centre of Innovation Opens at BSU

On the basis of the Faculty of Technologies of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University “Centre of Innovation” has been opened in the frame of Erasmus+ grant project - „INNOCENS“ (Enhancing Innovation Competences and Entrepreneurial Skills in Engineering Education). The objective of the Centre is the establishment of modern Entrepreneurship approaches, development of innovative competences and startups and spin offs. The Centre of Innovation was opened by Mr. Israel Griol  Bares, Business Manager, Professor at Polytechnic University of Valencia,  together with the professors and the teachers of the Centre of Innovation. In the frame of the project the trainers from BSU have been taking training courses in 7 different countries for the last year. As a follow up they will share the European experience with other colleagues in the process of education.  

The following issues will be taught on the basis of the Centre of Innovation:

• Modern principles of Team Formation and Delegation of Responsibilities;
• Forms of  Implementation of Mentor’s work;
• Modern Entrepreneurial Approaches in Engineering;
• Means of Development of Innovative Competences;
• Issues of Establishment of Innovations in Entrepreneurial Activities;
• Means of Finding Resources to Finance Innovative Ideas and Projects;
• Development of Startups and Spin offs  

The below presented activities will be implemented on the basis of the Centre of Innovation:

• Formation of working teams through the application of the research incubators;
• Managing team work through the application of the basic principles of innovative pedagogic approaches;
• Innovative competences will be developed and evaluated by the software system  “FINCODA Barometer”;
• Innovative Potential of Educational Programme, Study Courses and other institutions will be studied and evaluated by the computer system “HEINNOVATIVE”;
• The lectures will be conducted in accordance with the syllabuses  (Entrepreneurship for Engineers, Innovative Systems) prepared based on consideration of the main innovative pedagogic principles.
