Students and Professors Participated in IV European Campus

In the frame of the cooperation between Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the University of Poitiers, teaching staff and professors of BSU as well as 23 students from various faculties participated in IV European Campus. The course of trainings and lectures lasted from June 18 till June 30 2018 focusing on two main directions. Professors and teaching staff got introduced to the following important issues: definition of innovative methodology, analysis of French books of the latest publication and establishment of online methods in the process of teaching/learning of French language as well as the problems of tendencies and evaluation of the modern teaching.  

The issues for the students included the following aspects: language, translation intercultural mediation, practical course of French language. The participants of the Summer Campus were awarded the certificates.

Training course considered the following issues:

  • Role of corpus in compiling pedagogical materials;
  • Application of press/authentic materials;
  • Phonetics/correction (methods);
  • Influence of Digital innovations on the process of teaching languages;
  • Teaching strategies; 

European Campus in the frame of the memorandum between BSU and the University of  Poitiers took place with the financial support of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The Faculty of Humanities provided financial support for Assistant Professor Tamila Davitadze and 12 students of the French and English Philology. French University of Georgia financed Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Education Natia Abashidze and Dinara Pagava, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Tourism. Moreover, the Division of Youth of the Department of Sport and Youth of Ajara provided financial support for 12 French language students from various faculties of BSU.
