
On May 16-18, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, hosts consortium members of the “Third Mission Quality Development and Compliance in Georgian Universities-SQUARE” funded by the Erasmus + Institutional Capacity Building Project as part of the training course “T2.2 Strategic Planning” conducted by Finnish and Portuguese experts. The training was opened by the Rector of BSU, Professor Merab Khalvashi and the Head of the Quality Assurance Service of TSU, Project Coordinator Irma Grdzelidze.
Up to 36 representatives from 8 Georgian universities, LEPL - National Center for Quality Development in Education and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia are participating in the three-day training.
During the meeting, participants will learn about the Strategic Planning Methodology, tools and specific instructions for the activities of the Third Mission, which will be further used in the development of internal institutional strategies.
The project aims to enhance the importance and quality of the third mission in Georgian higher education institutions with the involvement of top management and structural units. Provide methodologies and guidelines for higher education institutions to plan, implement and evaluate their third mission. Important is the fact that the ultimate goal of the project is to establish a regulatory document on the basis of which the role of the third mission is defined at the national level as a mandatory component of accreditation-authorization.
