14th Public School Project is the winner of the BSU USAID Basic Education Program Project "Ideator of the Year" of the “Ideators’ Club” Project

The 14th Public School Project "Bridge of the Future" is the winner of the “Ideator of the Year" of the Ideators’ Club" the project of the BSU USAID Basic Education Program. At the final event held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, the jury reviewed the projects of six public school students in Batumi and revealed the author of the idea of the outstanding work, the "Ideator of the Year" of the club. The fifth form students of the 14th public school: Tatia Diasamidze, Nitsa Kontselidze, Mari Bakuridze, Lika Beridze, Sara Gurgenidze and Mari Shonia worked on the project of the "Future Bridge" for two months. The jury, along with "Ideator of the Year", also identified the most "innovative", "practical", "sustainable", "creative" and "creative" projects.

Representatives of the business sector awarded the schoolchildren with souvenirs, and the schools participating in the project were presented the multifunctional printers by the BSU in the frame of the USAID Basic Education Program.

BSU Vocational Program Management and Continuing Education Center has been implementing the “USAID Basic Education Program” since 2020. One of the components of the program is the launch of the "Ideators’ Club", which envisages the planning and preparation of projects in cooperation with the university, the school and the business sector, and thus the development of business ideas in primary school students.

Six business leaders expressed their desire to participate in the formation of the "Ideators' Club". These are: Basisbank, construction companies Horizon Group Ltd. and Anagi Ltd., Batumi Referral Hospital, Ajara Nursing Association, “Helsi” Clinic and “Progress”, the Network of Georgian-American International Schools. Since March 2022, Ideators’ Clubs have been established in 6 public schools selected by business leaders. These are: Batumi №1, №4, №14, №15, №16 and №28 public schools.

The Ideators’ Club includes extracurricular activities that develop important skills for elementary students, such as critical thinking, effective communication, teamwork, and creative problem solving. Ideators’ Clubs will encourage innovation and push the child to move their own ideas into real life. The main format of the club's work is the implementation of a team project. The students selected the problem together and actively cooperated to find ways to solve it. One of the main components of this process was the generation of ideas.

The clubs were established on a school basis and brought together 4th, 5th and 6th graders. The process of launching the clubs and implementing team projects, was led by BSU, as one of “USAID Basic Education Program” Partner University, professors / program trainers and volunteer students in cooperation with the business and the school representatives
