
On July 4-7, an interim management meeting was held in Barcelona within the framework of the "Erasmus+" institutional development project "Optimization of teaching and academic inclusion using distance learning and teaching" (LoveDistance). Project manager Nana Makaradze and researchers - Irakli Kordzaia, Amiran Sharadze and Nino Mikeladze, who are also involved in the course piloting process, participated in the meeting hosted by the IL-3 Lifelong Learning Institute of the University of Barcelona.
The meeting held in Barcelona together with FUNIBER was attended by project partner institutions - Porto Polytechnic Institute, Vigo University, Cluj Napoca Technical University (Romania), Shota Rustaveli State University, Ilia State University and Telavi State University (Georgia). Ono Academic College, Levinsky College of Education and MEITAL. Representatives of the University Electronic Learning Center (Israel).
Within the framework of the meetings, the participants discussed ways to improve access to and quality of higher education from the perspective of providing inclusive education. Participants discussed various aspects of the project, including issues related to quality, management, finance and communication. Future work has been planned, especially regarding the piloting of courses in 2022-2023.
Within the framework of the meeting, the participants agreed on the schedule of monitoring visits to Israel and Georgia; Considerable time was devoted to the discussion of financial issues, an analysis of the overall financial situation of the project was presented, and individual meetings were held with managers of partner institutions.
The aim of the project is to empower and provide support services to students from Israel and Georgia and it focuses on helping vulnerable groups/persons at risk of social exclusion, especially ethnic minorities, vulnerable women and students with special needs.
