Wrap up and award ceremony of "Ideators` Club" held at BSU

In Batumi's Shota Rustaveli State University, a wrapping up and awarding ceremony of the projects of the "USAID Basic Education Programme" ideators/STEM and readers' clubs was held. The event was opened and the participants were welcomed by Associate Professor Nana Makaradze, Manager of "USAID Basic Education Program" at BSU. At the final event of the program, students presented projects on various topics.

Clubs were formed in 10 schools selected from 9 municipalities of Adjara and Guria regions, students of IV-VI classes joined each club. The process of club operation and implementation of team projects, in cooperation with business and school representatives, was led by professors and teachers of the BSU as one of the partner universities of the "USAID Basic Education Program", program trainers and the integrated bachelor-master's educational program for general education elementary level teachers. Educational program students.

The ideators' and readers' clubs envisaged the planning and preparation of projects with the cooperation of the university, school and business sector and in this way the development of business ideas among elementary school students. Clubs help elementary students develop important skills such as critical thinking, effective communication, teamwork, and creative problem solving. Students chose a problem together and actively collaborated to find ways to solve it.

Tsaniarisi village public school of Keda municipality; Topic – Topic—three part tourist building";

Public school of the village of Peria, Khelvachauri Municipality; Topic-"The book is our friend"

Ruslan Meladze public school of Kvemo Vashlovani village of Khulo municipality; Topic- "We love to read";

Batumi Public School No. 27; - Topic - "Readers and Writers“

Public school of village Guturi of Chokhatauri municipality. Topic - "Knowledge collected sheet by sheet";

Public school No. 2 of Lanchkhuti named after Emzar Tsilosani; - "In the footsteps of the book";

The following organizations cooperated with the university to introduce their business activities to students and to implement projects: Ltd "Neopharm" (chain of pharmacies), fruit factory "Kerki", "Bakhvi 2 hydro power station", hotel and restaurant "Chatto Iveri", network of Georgian-American international schools " progress". The sponsors of "Reading Clubs" are "Books in Batumi" publishing house, Adjara Writers' House and stationery and household goods distribution company, Provider.G.

Since 2020, BSU has been implementing the "USAID Basic Education Program". One of the components of the program is the launch of different types of clubs (ideators' club/STEAM club/book friend/readers' club) in order to promote extracurricular activities in public schools of Georgia, which provides for the planning and preparation of projects in cooperation between the university, school and business sector, and in this way, in elementary school students, business - Development of ideas.

Commemorative gifts and certificates were given to all participants of the ideators' club.
