Visit of participants of "Erasmus+" project SQUARE to Nova University of Lisbon

On November 20-23, within the scope of the European Union "Erasmus+" project "Strengthening the quality and relevance of the third mission in Georgian universities (SQUARE)", the Georgian partners of the project were hosted by Nova University of Lisbon. From Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, the event was attended by BSU Deputy Rector, Professor Tamar Siradze and Head of Public Relations Service, Nino Dolidze.

Within the framework of the visit, the representatives of Nova University shared with the Georgian partners involved in the project detailed information about Nova University's third mission and internationalization goals and implemented activities, as well as regarding the university's science, innovation and research activities. Consortium member universities had the opportunity to attend the science and innovation day at Nova University, which was opened by the Rector of Nova University, Professor João Saagua.

Within the framework of the event, the member universities of the consortium presented the report and results of the pilot activities of the third mission. Deputy Rector of Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, Professor Tamar Siradze, presented the project implemented by BSU "Short-term preparation program for 12th grade students (entrants) of Khulo and Shuakhevi public schools for the common national exams", which the university has been implementing for the second year with the involvement of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara, for the entrants living in the mountainous Ajara. The project envisages free preparation of entrants for unified national exams - in mathematics, English language, Georgian language and literature. The last part of the event was devoted to the discussion of the organizational details of the final conference of the project and the dissemination issues to be presented.

Tbilisi State University is the coordinator of the SQUARE project. 8 Georgian universities, 3 European universities, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center for Education Quality Development participated in the visit.

The main goal of the project is to improve the activities of the third university mission in Georgian higher education institutions. During the project, the description, analysis, strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of the university's 3M activities are carried out, taking into account the capabilities of the university's top management and staff.
