The international conference "Translation in Transitional Paradigm 7" was opened in BSU. About 40 researchers from 10 countries are participating in the three-day conference. The purpose of the forum is to share experience on corpus linguistic empirical studies and modern methodology of translation studies, as well as field development in the fields of translation and technology.
The international conference was organized by the Center for Translation and Interdisciplinary Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the Institute of Translation Studies and Specialized Communication of Hildersheim University (Germany) and the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara.
This series of conferences is considered one of the central forums in the field of translation studies. Previous "Translation in Paradigm Transition" conferences have been hosted by leading universities in the EU, including the Universities of Copenhagen, Ghent, Barcelona and Charles University in Prague, as well as the University of Kent, USA. Therefore, the international awareness of the conference is high.
The conference has an international scientific commission, whose members are professors from the leading universities of the European Union in the field, members of the European Union Translation Association. BSU associate professor Khatuna Beridze is also a member of the International Scientific Commission.
Participation in the conference was possible as a result of triple peer review on the Open Review platform. Proceedings of the conference will be published in a journal indexed in the SCOPU journal, approved by the editorial board.
The Batumi conference will be open to various topics of empirical translation studies, focusing especially on two areas: the analysis of less common and less researched language pairs using corpus linguistics methodology.
