The Dentistry program at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was established in 1998. In 2004, the Department of Dentistry was founded (initially as a department), and in 2006 it was reorganized as a fully structured academic department.
From 2004 to 2011, the department was headed by Professor V. Chantladze. Since 2011, the head of the department has been Professor M. Bakradze.

Scientific Work:
The department’s academic staff has published over 100 scientific articles and authored 4 academic textbooks, contributing significantly to the development of dental science and education in Georgia.
