Mrs. Nana Kurshubadze the Deputy Head of the Strategic Development and International Relations Department of BSU and Mr. Irakli Gorgiladze Associate Professor of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of BSU took part in the international week in the frame of the ERASMUS+ Exchange Programme during October 16-22. The event at the College of Enterprise and Administration of Lublin (Poland) envisaged the meeting with the academic and administrative staff of the universities from various countries as well as presenting public lectures and participating in workshops.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosts the training session in the development of the mobility, orientation and everyday living task skills for the blind and visually impaired people. In the frame of the training the experts in early intervention of the visually impaired and multi-handicapped children, professors and teachers of the Faculty of Education and the students of Psychology of BSU are mastering the techniques they can apply while working with the impaired children to increase their independence and socialization skills. The training will provide the theoretical knowledge as well as the practical lessons to master the above mentioned skills.

Chinese Ambassador Plenipotentiary in Georgia Ji Ianchi visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The diplomat met Mr. Merab Khalvashi the Rector of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Mr. Ilia Nakashidze the Deputy Chairman of Parliament of Georgia, Mrs. Inga Shamilishvili the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of Autonomous Republic of Ajara and Mr. Zaal Mikeladze the Minister of Health and Social Care of Ajara.

The International Scientific Conference “Future Technologies and the Quality of Life” opened in the conference hall in the “Radisson Blue Hotel” in Batumi. 270 participants from 10 countries will be discussing the outcomes of the research work carried out recently as well as the current problems. The objective of the international forum is to get introduced to the research implemented in the field of the life sciences and discuss them in the context of the technologies of future the application of what will make it possible to timely diagnose the diseases, take preventive measures and ensure qualified and safe treatment. The treatment is based on the modern views of the genetic investigations, the achievements, traditional, cell, bio, immuno and nanotechnologies which allow the diagnostics of the disease, detection of the biologically active molecule as well as the elaboration of the drug forms to be effectively delivered into the tissue or the cell. The design of the relevant systems and technologies will be ensured too.

On September 25-29 a working group meeting was held in the frame of the Erasmus+CGHE project “High Education Interdisciplinary Reform in the Education Programme of the Tourism Management and Applied Geoinformation” in Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The meeting was dedicated to the improvement of the teaching/learning quality issues where the representatives of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Bologna and Ilia State University shared their experience, in development of the quality of education, with the project members.
